Connecting OctoSniff To Game Consoles: Wired To PC Guide (Recommended)
Updated on April 17, 2026
In this guide, we will provide instructions on how to utilize Octosniff through both a VPN and a standard WiFi adapter or Lan2Lan. While the wired method may be slightly more complex, it is recommended as it does not require an ARP spoofing attack.
Requirements.
- A laptop or Desktop with a WiFi Card or 2 Lan ports (ie usb2Lan adapter and 1 default Lan Port).
- WiFi Signal with a consitent 90% Signal.
- Make sure your game console is powered off.
- You can check your wifi signal strength by opening CMD and pasting
netsh wlan show interfaceshit enter.
Setting up ICS.
- Open OctoSniff, Your PC's internet adapter should automatically be selected.
- Click Hotspot on the left sidebar.
- Public Adapter should be your PC's internet adapter. (if you want to game on a VPN change this to the VPN adapter).
- Private Adapter select the Ethernet your Game Console is using.
- Click Enable Sharing.
- On your Game Console setup a wired connection.
Setting up OctoSniff.
- Click the adapter on the bottom left of the sidebar.
- Choose the Ethernet Adapter your console is using. (IP for it should be 192.168.137.1)
- Click "ARP Spoofing" on the left sidebar.
- Click "Scan Network" in the top right.
- Select your Game Console IP from the "ACTIVE DEVICES" list. (IP for it should start with 192.168.137.XXX)
- Click Filters on the left sidebar , Select Device Filters an select your Game Console IP.
- Enable a Game Filter if the game you are on has one. Click Filters => Community Filters. 8: Once the Filter is selected make sure it says Highlight then click Apply 9: Click the Network on the left side bar, Then click Start Sniff 10: Check the Filtered Traffic if you see no data, the filter needs to be updated and the traffic will appear in All Traffic.
Maximizing Game Filters.
- It is important to only use game filters while actively playing the game in question.
- Having multiple filters enabled during a game may cause overlap, resulting in confusion.
- To avoid this, we recommend only leaving party chat filters on while playing a game.
- When switching to a different game, turn off the previous filter and enable the new one for the new game. By doing this, you'll be able to capture accurate data and avoid confusion
- Always begin capturing packets before joining a game or party chat. This is essential as most filters require information from the initial packets in order to function properly.
You can request a game or app filter to be made or updated via our discord.
